Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Volodymyr Grabovskyi and Anton Dolynskyi

 

On Thursday, 5 September, Lviv residents and visitors are encouraged to join the city’s ceremonies of farewell to the fallen defenders. Volodymyr Grabovskyi and Anton Dolynskyi were killed in action while defending Ukraine. The mayor’s office asks to refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during the time of farewell to the soldiers.

The farewell and funeral service for the defenders Volodymyr Hrabovskyi and Anton Dolynskyi will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul in Lviv, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

Then the soldier Anton Dolynskyi will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

The body of the soldier Volodymyr Hrabovskyi will be transported to his native village of Zibolky, Lviv, after the funeral ceremony on Rynok Square. Rynok Square will be transported to his native village of Zibolky, Lviv region. There, a farewell will first take place at the family home. Then there will be a prayer service at the Church of Saints Cosmas and Demian. The defender will then be buried at the local cemetery.

Biographical information about the defenders

Anton Dolynskyi (03.06.1985 – 29.08.2024) Lviv resident.

Anton Dolynskyi (03.06.1985 – 29.08.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

From 1991 to 1997, he lived in Kherson, and later his family returned to Lviv. He studied at Lviv State Communal Secondary School No. 3. He graduated from Lviv Polytechnic National University.

He worked at the Department of Ecology and Balanced Nature Management of the Vyacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development at Lviv Polytechnic National University. According to his family, “Anton’s defining character trait was his great genuine kindness.”

At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the 103rd separate brigade of the Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi Territorial Defence Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend Ukraine. He performed combat missions in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions. In August 2022, he was awarded the Combatant Medal.

Anton Dolynskyi is survived by his parents, fiancée, sister, brother and uncle and aunt.

Volodymyr Hrabovskyi (26.03.1988 – 19.05.2023) Born in the village of Zibolky, Lviv region.

Volodymyr Hrabovskyi (26.03.1988 – 19.05.2023) was born in the village of Zibolky, Lviv region.

He studied at the Zibolky secondary school of the Zhovkva City Council, Lviv district, Lviv region. He received his professional education at the Higher Vocational School №20 in Lviv.

He did his regular military service at the Training Centre of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, after which he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After completing his military service, he lived in his native village, where he worked. According to his family, Volodymyr was fond of computer technology, electronics, and loved working with wood.

With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended the state as a member of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in Volyn, then performed combat missions in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Volodymyr Hrabovskyi is survived by his wife, son, mother, brother, sister and nephews.
