Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Leonid Pilipaka and Przemyslaw Rasiewicz-Kuczynski

 

On Wednesday, August 14, Lviv will say goodbye to soldiers Leonid Pilipaka and Przemyslaw Rasiewicz-Kuchynski, who defended Ukraine from Russian invaders. The mayor’s office calls on residents to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

Leonid Pilipaka’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Przemysław Rasiewicz-Kuczynski’s funeral will begin at 14:00 in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 14:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographical information about the defenders

Leonid Pilipaka (08.04.1987-10.08.2024) A native of the village of Sitne, Rivne region.

He studied at the Sytne Lyceum. After graduation, he moved to Lviv, where he received vocational training as a car repairman and welder. He did his military service in the Lviv region.

Later, he was engaged in welding metal structures and opened his own forge for the manufacture of metal structures. He was fond of fishing, football, and loved the outdoors.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily joined the territorial defense of the city of Vynnyky. In January 2024, he joined the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions to protect the state in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.

Leonid Pilipak is survived by his parents, wife and daughter.

Przemysław Rasiewicz-Kuczynski (02.05.1988-06.08.2024) Was born in Gdynia (Republic of Poland).

He graduated from the local secondary school of economics. He was actively involved in social activities and helped those in need. He co-organized various festivals and cultural events, successfully combining social, charitable and cultural work. He devoted his free time to mountain tourism and trekking.

He was also engaged in volunteer activities in the city of Grodno (Republic of Belarus), but after the beginning of political persecution of Belarusian activists, he was forced to leave the country.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Przemyslaw decided to join the defense of Ukraine from the Russian invaders. He took part in the battles on the eastern and southern directions as a member of the International Legion.

Przemysław Rasiewicz-Kuczynski is survived by his two grandparents, his uncle and his family, and his beloved girlfriend.
