Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Vitaly Samolyotov and Petro Bardak

Tomorrow, September 12, Lviv will say goodbye to servicemen Vitaly Samolyotov and Petro Bardak, who died in battle while defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service of both soldiers will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

Therefore, Vitaly Samolyotov will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery. And Petro Bardak will find his eternal rest in the cemetery in his native village of Lishchyn (former Zhydachiv District), Lviv Region.

Vitaly Samolyotov (February 7, 1975-September 6, 2023)

He was born in the village of Tuim (Republic of Khakassia, Russian Federation). At the age of 12, he moved to his grandmother in Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 40 of Lviv. After completing his studies, he was engaged in the restoration of churches. During the last 15 years, he worked in the restaurant sector in Lviv. In his free time, he was fond of fishing, adored dogs.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. He defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vitaly Samolyotov is survived by his family and friends.

Petro Bardak (31.07.1990-01.08.2023)

A native of the village of Lishchyn, Lviv region.

He studied at the Communal Institution of General Secondary Education of the 1st degree No. 16 of the village of Lishchyn, later he entered the Communal Institution of General Secondary Education of the I-III Degrees No. 5 of the village of Hrusyatichi.

After completing his studies, he served in the military in Poltava.

Subsequently, he worked at the Lviv communal enterprise “Road repair enterprise of Halytsky district”. In his free time, he was fond of fishing and football.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Defended the state in the eastern direction.

Petr Bardak is survived by his mother, two sisters and two brothers.
