Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Volodymyr Kushpit and Pavlo Antoshchak

On Friday, 31 May, Lviv will say goodbye to the soldiers Volodymyr Kushpit and Pavlo Antoshchak, who were killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

In the morning, at 09:30, the funeral service for the soldier Volodymyr Kushpit will be held at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sykhiv. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul (Teatralna St., Kyiv). Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), followed by a city farewell ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

The funeral service for the soldier Pavlo Antoshchak will begin at 12:00 in the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul (15 Lukasevych Street). Peter and Paul (15 Lukasevycha Street). The defender will be buried at the Ryasnyanske cemetery (military field).

He studied at secondary school No. 92 in Lviv. He graduated from the Lviv Professional College of Fashion Industry of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design.

In peacetime, he worked as a sales agent and sales manager in Lviv. According to his family, he was extremely cheerful, kind and loved life.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from the invaders. He performed combat missions to protect the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the southern direction in the ranks of the 3rd Brigade of Operational Purpose “Spartan” named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan of the Eastern Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Pavlo Antoshchak is survived by his mother, sister and godson.

He studied at secondary school No. 13. He graduated with honours from the former University of Banking (then the Institute).

He worked as a sales representative at Lviv Brewing Company Limited Liability Company. He was actively involved in sports, loved spending time with children, and dreamed of doing beekeeping and gardening.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he was trained at the Military Academy in Odesa. Subsequently, he performed combat missions to protect the sovereignty of the state in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 81st separate airmobile Slobozhanska brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal courage, he was awarded numerous decorations, including the Cross of Military Honour, an honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his military service, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

Volodymyr Kushpit is survived by his parents, wife, two children, sister, many relatives and friends.
