Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Yuriy Yastrub and Oleg Frentser

On Thursday, November 16, Lviv will say goodbye to servicemen Yury Yastrub and Oleg Frentser, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The servicemen’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Oleg Frentser will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery, and Yuriy Yastrub – at the Goloskiv cemetery.

Biographical references of defenders

Yuriy Yastrub (December 3, 1975-November 10, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 30. He was educated at the Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 32 (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Technology and Service”).

In peacetime, he worked as a tailor and tailor in the city of Lviv. He was distinguished by a clear civic position: in the late 1980s, in the ranks of a youth public organization, he was engaged in the protection of rallies and mass actions of citizens, and also actively helped scout organizations.

He liked to devote his free time to children and was fond of embroidery. Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, he sought to defend the Motherland from the invaders, but Yuri Yastruba was rejected due to lack of military experience.

After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 47th separate mechanized brigade “Magura” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the southern direction.

Yury Yastrub is survived by his mother, wife, four children, sister, godson with his wife, and nephews.

Oleg Frentser (February 28, 1985-November 5, 2023) was born in the village of Novy Mylyatyn, Lviv region. Lived in the city of Vinnyky.

Studied at secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 29. Subsequently, he received his education at a vocational school in the city of Lviv. He completed his military service in the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (now the National Guard of Ukraine).

After returning, he worked in the security sector, then engaged in the construction of highways. He was an exceptionally kind and open person, always ready to help others.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 33rd separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. He defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the southern direction.

Oleg Frentser is survived by his parents, aunt and husband, uncle and wife, cousin and cousin, who is currently fighting the occupiers on the front lines.
