Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defender Taras Foliush

On Tuesday, 10 September, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Taras Folyush, who died defending Ukraine.

 

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The farewell to the defender will begin at 12:00 in the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle (38 Warsawska St.). Then, at 14:00, the funeral service will be held in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Peter and Paul, the funeral service will be held, and at 14:30, the city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Taras Foliush (26.07.1971-21.03.2022) was born in Lviv. Later, Taras Foliush’s family moved to the village of Mali Hrybovychi.

He attended secondary schools in Mali Hrybovychi and Velyki Hrybovychi. He mastered the profession of a builder at Higher Vocational School No. 48 in Lviv (today – State Vocational Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Computer Technologies and Construction”). After graduation, he served in the military.

Throughout his life, he worked in the construction industry. He was passionate about his work, constantly improved his skills and received great satisfaction from the results of his work.

Taras Foliush was distinguished by a clear civic position, took an active part in the events during the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. According to his family, he was an exceptionally “kind, honest, hardworking and humble man, he loved to joke; he was a jack of all trades and never refused to help. He loved spending time outdoors with his family.

On the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the state from the invaders in the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the “hot” spots of Luhansk region.

On 21 March 2022, the family lost contact with Taras Foliush. He had been missing for more than two years.

The Hero is survived by his parents, wife, two children, three sisters and a brother with their families, godmother, godchildren and extended family.
