Lviv will say goodbye to defender Taras Reshetivskyi tomorrow

On Monday, 13 May, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Taras Reshetivskyi, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

In the morning, at 09:00, a prayer and farewell to the soldier will be held in the church of St John the Baptist UGCC (1G Zubrivska Street).

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

Taras Reshetivskyi will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographical note of the defence counsel

Taras Reshetivskyi (08.03.1975-05.05.2024) Lviv resident.

He studied at secondary school No. 72. Later, he studied at the Lyceum named after the Holy Martyr Klyment Sheptytskyi and Higher Vocational School No. 75 in Chervone (today – State Vocational School “Chervonenske Higher Vocational School”).

After graduation, he worked in production and trade, and most recently was an entrepreneur. According to his family, he was a devoted family man who loved his children. He was fond of Lviv’s architecture and visited many of the city’s museums with his children.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the state from the occupiers in the 1st Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He performed tasks in the eastern direction.

Taras Reshetivskyi is survived by his mother, wife, two children and sister.
