Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Viktor Dudnyk

On Wednesday, May 8, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Viktor Dudnyk, who died at the hands of the Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.

We urge Lviv residents and guests of the city to refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations at this time.

The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical certificate of the defender

Viktor Dudnyk (January 4, 1990-May 1, 2024). He was born in the city of Raichikhinsk (Russian Federation) in the family of a military man. Later, the family moved to Lviv.

He studied at Lesya Ukrainka Lyceum No. 75 of the Lviv City Council. In 2012, he graduated from Lviv Polytechnic National University with a master’s degree.

After completing his studies, he worked at the State Enterprise “Lviv International Airport named after Danylo Halytskyi”. According to his relatives, he was “a wonderful father, responsible and loved his children very much.” He was fond of rock climbing, mountain tourism and bicycle trips.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. Performed combat missions as a platoon commander in the ranks of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Tavri Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Defended the state in the eastern direction of the front.

Victor Dudnyk is survived by his parents, wife and two children.
