Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defender Yuriy Trofimuk

On Wednesday, 16 October, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Yuriy Trofimuk, who gave his life defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers.

The mayor’s office calls on residents and visitors to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul. Later, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a citywide farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

Yuriy Trofimuk will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.

The defender’s biographical note

Yuriy Trofimuk (28.04.1992-10.10.2024) Lviv.

Yurii Trofimuk (28.04.1992-10.10.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

He studied at the secondary school №65 in Lviv. Lviv. Subsequently, he entered the Lviv Vocational College of Food Technologies and Business of the National University of Food Technologies.

After graduation, he changed several jobs. During the last period, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship in the field of trade. In his spare time, he was fond of sports and practised bachata.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the state from the occupiers and joined the ranks of the 5th Border Guard Detachment of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in Sumy and Donetsk regions.

Yurii Trofimuk is survived by his mother, two brothers, an uncle and a little niece.
