Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Ihor Kril and Mykola Majorchak

On Tuesday, June 6, Lviv will say goodbye to two Heroes. Ihor Kryl and Mykola Mayorchak died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The Heroes’ funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

Ihor Kryl will be buried in the village of Porechye, Yavoriv district, Mykola Majorchak – at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv.

Biographical references of Heroes

Ihor Kryl (April 22, 1995-May 30, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 38 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the Lviv Higher Vocational School of Transport Technologies and Service of the National Transport University, obtained the specialization “Car repair mechanic, electric and gas welder”.

In peacetime, he worked in the motor vehicle industry, during the last time he was abroad. He was fond of cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense in defense of the Motherland. Performed combat tasks as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ihor Kril is survived by his parents, wife, son, two sisters, two grandmothers, grandfather and nephews.

 

Mykola Mayorchak (July 1, 1992-June 2, 2023) was born in the village of Vovkiv, Lviv Region.

He studied at the Vovkiv Institute of General Secondary Education of the I-II degrees of the Lviv District of the Lviv Region, and later continued his studies at the gymnasium school in the city of Peremyshlyany. Graduated from the Faculty of History of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2021, he entered postgraduate studies at the Institute of Ukrainian Studies named after Ivan Krypyakevich of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, studying archaeology.

He took part in a number of archaeological expeditions, researched ancient history, the history of early Christianity and settlements of the Lipi culture. He participated in the research project “Local History”, where he recorded the testimonies of eyewitnesses of the liberation struggles on the territory of Ukraine.

He held the position of senior researcher of the Lviv Historical Museum, engaged in scientific research, studied the collection of ancient monuments in the museum’s funds. Participant of the Revolution of Dignity.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation did not hesitate to defend the Motherland from the invaders. At first, he was in military service in one of the departments of the Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support of the Lviv Region. Subsequently, he performed combat missions in the ranks of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade “Edelweiss” of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Died, remaining loyal to his life principle: “God, Ukraine, family.”

Mykola Majorchak is survived by his wife and mother.
