Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Mykhailo Chingar and Bohdan Derkach

Tomorrow, January 31, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Mykhailo Chingar and Bohdan Derkach, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremonies and refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of Mykhailo Chingary and Bohdan Derkach will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (Tetralna St., 11), at 2:30 p.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

Mykhailo Chingar (February 12, 1995-January 24, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 49 of the city of Lviv.

In 2012, he graduated from the Lviv Economic and Legal Lyceum of the III-level comprehensive educational institution with specialized studies and pre-professional training, in 2014 – from the Lviv Cooperative Professional College of Economics and Law, majoring in “Jurisprudence”. Subsequently, he obtained a law degree at the East European University of Economics and Law named after Rauf Ablyazov. In his free time, he was actively involved in sports, holding the sports rank of “Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in Judo”.

During 2014-2017, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to join the ranks of the separate special purpose unit “Azov” of the Eastern operational-territorial unit of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Mykhailo Chingary is survived by his parents and sister.

Bohdan Derkach (1990-2023) Born in Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region.

Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs with a degree in “law”. After completing his studies, he worked as an investigator.

During 2015-2021, he performed combat missions in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Kostya Gordienko of the operational command “South” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
