Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Nazarii Spodar and Zinoviy Shevchuk

On Thursday, March 30, Lviv will say goodbye to Nazariy Spodar and Zinovyi Shevchuk, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Nazariy Spodar (October 28, 1984-February 17, 2023). A native of Lviv.

 

Nazariy Spodar (October 28, 1984-February 17, 2023). A native of Lviv.
He studied at Lyceum No. 46 named after Vyacheslav Chornovol of the Lviv City Council. He graduated with honors from Ivan Franko Lviv National University, majoring in Finance.

After completing his studies, he worked as the head of the department, and later as the head of the department for solving real estate issues at the Private Joint-Stock Company “Ukrainian Joint-Stock Insurance Company “ASKA”. Later, he held the position of director at PJSC “ARMA Insurance Company”.

He was a member of the NGO “Lviv Active Recreation Club”, was fond of fishing and mushroom picking.

He took part in the events during the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. On March 5, 2022, he volunteered to join the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat tasks in the “hot spots” of the front.

Nazarii Spodara is survived by his parents, his wife, two daughters and a sister.

 

Zinovy Shevchuk (March 24, 1966-October 1, 2022).

 

Zinovy Shevchuk (March 24, 1966-October 1, 2022). A native of Murovane village, Lviv region.
He studied at the general secondary school of grades I-II in the village of Murovane, after graduating from the 8th grade he entered Yampil secondary school of grades I-III #2. He was educated at a vocational school in Bryukhovychy, later graduated from the Lviv branch of the Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after academician Vsevolod Lazaryan.

He completed military service in the ranks of the marines in Sevastopol. In peacetime, he worked on the railway.

Since 2014, he performed combat missions in the anti-terrorist operation area as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he continued to fight against the Russian invaders in the ranks of the same 24th brigade.

Zinoviy Shevchuk is survived by two sons, an older brother and an older sister.
