Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Oleg Didukh and Bohdan Didukh

Tomorrow, June 19, Lviv will say goodbye to Oleg Didukh and Bohdan Didukh, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service for the Heroes will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul in Lviv (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

Oleg Didukh (February 3, 1971-June 16, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 60 of the city of Lviv.

After completing his studies, he worked as a fitter-assembler of radio-electronic equipment at the Private Joint-Stock Company “Lviv Electric Lamp Factory “Iskra”. He completed his military service in the city of St. Petersburg (then Leningrad).

In peacetime, he worked as a glass-forming machine adjuster at the Lviv Insulation Company Limited Liability Company. He was fond of fishing and mushroom picking.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense. Performed tasks as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleg Didukh is survived by his wife, daughter, mother and sister.

 

Bohdan Didukh (November 25, 1989-June 13, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 55 of Lviv. Received higher education at the Department of Power Engineering and Management Systems of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

In peacetime, he worked at the Lviv Railway Regional Branch of the Ukrzaliznytsia Joint Stock Company, then in the construction industry. He was fond of football. He was the chief referee of the Football Federation of Kamianechchyna and a member of many amateur football and futsal clubs in Lviv.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he was actively involved in volunteer activities, later joined the ranks of the 1st separate Feodosia Marine Battalion of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinskyi of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. He believed in the inevitable victory over the invaders.

Bohdan Didukh is survived by his daughter, wife, parents, brother, nephews and godchildren.
