Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Roman-Dmytro Haiduchko and Stepan Begen

On Friday, June 30, Lviv will say goodbye to two Heroes. Roman-Dmytro Haiduchok and Stepan Begen died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Roman Dmytro Haiduchok (October 9, 1991-June 24, 2023). A native of Lviv.

He graduated from Lyceum No. 74 named after Mariyka Pidhiryanka of the Lviv City Council. He studied at the National Forestry University of Ukraine, later entered the Interregional Center for Vocational and Technical Education of Artistic Modeling and Design in the city of Lviv, obtained the profession of “Cook; confectioner”.

In peacetime, he worked in the restaurant industry. For Roman-Dmytro Haiduchko, cooking was not only a job, but a life’s work. He was fond of football.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite the lack of military experience, he stood up for the defense of the Motherland. He carried out combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 13th separate airborne assault battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Taras Senyuk of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Roman-Dmytro Haiduchka is survived by his parents, grandparents and brother.

 

Stepan Begen (May 8, 1966-June 25, 2023). A native of the village of Kolodruby, Lviv region.

He studied at the Kolodrubivsk general secondary education institution of grades I-III of the Lviv region. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational College of Trade and Services”.

After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of the airborne assault troops.

For 15 years, he worked at a factory for the production of fur products in Lviv, later – in the field of trade. He liked to devote his free time to fishing.

From the first months of the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland from the Russian invaders. Defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in the eastern direction as part of the T0910 military unit. During his service, Stepan Begen was awarded the rank of junior sergeant.

The Hero is survived by his wife, two brothers, three children and five grandchildren.
