Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Serhii Zhulinskyi, Vasyl Borukh and Andriy Yagodynskyi

Tomorrow, July 18, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders of Ukraine Vasyl Borukh, Serhii Zhulinskyi and Andriy Yagodynskyi. The funeral ceremony of the Heroes will take place in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, city farewell ceremony – on Rynok Square.

The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests of the city to join the farewell ceremony for the Heroes and to refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

At 11:00 a.m., the funeral ceremony of Andriy Yagodynskyi and Vasyl Borukh will begin, at 11:30 a.m. the city farewell ceremony for the Heroes (Rynok Square). Andriy Yagodynskyi will be buried at the Sykhiv cemetery, Vasyl Borukh – at the Lychakiv cemetery.

At 15:00 – the start of Serhii Zhulinsky’s funeral ceremony, 15:30 – the city farewell ceremony for the Hero (Rynok Square). Serhiy Zhulinsky will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Andriy Yagodynskyi (April 21, 1996-July 15, 2023). A native of Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 31 and Secondary Secondary School No. 68 of the city of Lviv, which he graduated with a gold medal. He received a diploma with honors from the Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi, had a considerable number of student scientific achievements and was among the top ten graduates.

After completing his education, he completed his military service at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.

After completing his service, he worked as an anesthesiologist at St. Panteleimon Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv. He was a successful and promising doctor. Outside of work, he traveled a lot, played the guitar and was fond of driving cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he returned to military service at the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.

Andrii Jagodynskyi is survived by his parents, grandmother and aunt.

Serhii Zhulinskyi (February 9, 1985-July 12, 2023). A native of the city of Rohatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 40 of the city of Lviv. He received his education at the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Interregional Higher Vocational School of Motor Transport and Construction” with the specialty “Auto Mechanic”.

After completing his studies, he served in the military in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.

In peacetime, he worked in the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy. He was fond of football, drawing and cars, had a great sense of humor.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 102nd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade named after Colonel Dmytro Vitovsky of the “West” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. He was awarded numerous badges for personal courage.

Serhiy Zhulinsky is survived by his parents, brother with his family, and his fiancée.

Vasyl Borukh (January 28, 1973-July 12, 2023). A native of the village of Drohomyshl, Lviv region.

He studied at the Drohomyshlyan institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees named after Peter Vasylikha, later entered the Nagachiv institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees. He was educated at the Faculty of History of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of border guards near Transnistria.

For 30 years, he worked as a history teacher in the Domazhyrsk general secondary education institution of grades I-III of the Lviv region.

An active participant of the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the invaders in the ranks of the 10th separate rifle battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then he joined the newly created 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the 10th Army Corps of the Operational Command “North” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was awarded the Cross “Honor and Glory” for personal bravery during combat missions.

Vasyl Borukh is survived by his wife, daughter, son, brothers and sisters.
