Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Volodymyr Dytyuk and Vitaly Horoshenko

On Thursday, July 20, Lviv will say goodbye to two Heroes. Volodymyr Dytyuk and Vitaly Horoshenko died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The Heroes’ funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The defenders will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Volodymyr Dytyuk (19.09.1985-16.07.2023) Born in the village of Krehiv, Lviv region. Navchavs

I am in the Krehiv institution of general secondary education of the I-II degrees of the Zhovkiv city council of the Lviv district of the Lviv region. After completing his studies, he served in military unit A0474 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He worked in the construction industry. In his spare time, he was engaged in fishing and loved hiking in nature.

During 2014-2015, he defended the Motherland in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the ranks of the 128th Separate Transcarpathian Mountain Assault Brigade of the Operational Command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, he was awarded the award of the President of Ukraine “For participation in an anti-terrorist operation.”

With the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction.

Volodymyr Dytyuk is survived by his wife, daughter, mother, two sisters, two brothers, a godson and nephews.

 

Vitaly Horoshenko (September 21, 1978-July 12, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 21 of the Lviv City Council. He received his professional and technical education at the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Design and Construction” (former Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 64) majoring in carpentry.

Engaged in entrepreneurial activities. In his free time he liked to go fishing.

With the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the 25th Sicheslav Airborne Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Defended Ukraine in the eastern direction.

Vitaly Horoshenko is survived by his wife and three daughters.
