Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Volodymyr Galan and Pavel Maksimov

On Saturday, March 18, Lviv will say goodbye to Volodymyr Galan and Pavel Maksimov, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Volodymyr Galan (April 14, 1989-March 10, 2023). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the Institution of General Secondary Education No. 87 of the Lviv City Council named after Iryna Kalynets.

After completing his studies, he first worked as a construction worker, later in the field of transportation. During the last period he worked at a local service station. In his free time, he was fond of fishing, mushroom picking and cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the ranks of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign of the operational command “South” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Galan is survived by his parents, sister, two grandmothers and two nephews.

 

Pavlo Maksimov (19.07.1985-10.03.2023). Born in Ternopil.
He lived in Donetsk with his family for more than 20 years. Here he graduated from the Lyceum at the Donetsk National University, during his studies he was particularly fond of chemistry. He was educated at the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.

Having decided to devote his life to science, he began working as a leading specialist in the Limited Liability Company “ALT Ukraine LTD”.

In his free time, he loved to travel, from being an “amateur tourist” he became a real mountaineer-speler. He studied psychological and philosophical works, was engaged in cycling, tried to reveal his full potential as much as possible.

The occupation of Donetsk forced Pavlo Maksimov and his family to leave their home.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense. He fought against the Russian invaders as part of the 112th separate territorial defense brigade of the “North” Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
