Tomorrow, November 28, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Denys Metyolkin, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Denys Metyolkin (03/08/1983-11/11/2022) Born in the city of Severodonetsk, Luhansk region.
He studied at the Siverodonetsk Humanitarian and Aesthetic Gymnasium of the Siverodonetsk City Council of the Luhansk Region. In 2001, he graduated from the Higher Vocational School No. 92 of the city of Severodonetsk, majoring in “cook”.

In 2002-2004, he worked in the local forestry.

During 2015-2016, he performed combat missions in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After returning to civilian life, he worked in the construction industry in Severodonetsk.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the family moved to Lviv. He held the post of postman in the Lviv directorate of the Ukrposhta joint-stock company.

Subsequently, Denys Met’olkin stood up for the defense of the Motherland, defended its territorial integrity and independence as part of the 68th separate hunting brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Hero is survived by his mother, brother, sister and son.
