Tomorrow, September 21, Lviv will say goodbye to Volodymyr Heisler, who died in the battle with the Russian invaders. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, the serviceman will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

The City Hall of Lviv urges you to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

At 12:00 p.m., the funeral rite will begin in the Garrison Church, at 12:30 p.m. – the city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Route of the funeral procession: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – st. Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – str. Pekarska – str. Shimzeriv – str. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

Blue and yellow flags with a mourning ribbon will be hung on the buildings along the route of the convoy.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Volodymyr Gaisler (May 26, 1971-September 15, 2022) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 38 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the separate structural unit “Technical and Economic College of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” with a specialty in “enterprise economics”. After completing his studies, he served in the military for two years. In peacetime, he worked as a controller, later as a meter fitter in the Lvivgaz public joint-stock company.

With the beginning of Russian aggression, he performed combat tasks in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the start of a full-scale invasion, he came to the defense of Ukraine. He fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 15th separate mountain-assault Sevastopol battalion of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Heisler is survived by his wife and two sons.
