Tomorrow, April 20, the Lviv community will say goodbye to Volodymyr Hryvnak, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

Volodymyr Hryvnak’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul in Lviv (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

 

Volodymyr Hryvnak (July 14, 1984-April 15, 2023), a native of the village of Ivanivka, Lviv region.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 63 of Lviv. Received higher education at the National Forestry University of Ukraine, majoring in “Forestry”.

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry, engaged in repair work.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the territorial defense in defense of the Motherland. Performed combat tasks as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Fought the occupiers in “hot” spots. Despite the injury, he returned to the front.

Volodymyr Hryvnak is survived by his parents, wife and beloved daughter.
