Tomorrow, April 10, Lviv will say goodbye to Yevhen Gulevich, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

 

Evgeny Gulevich (July 21, 1975 – December 31, 2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the Kalusa Lyceum No. 2 of the Kalusa City Council, Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

He studied at the Faculty of Journalism of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2005, he graduated from the master’s program in cultural studies at the same university.

He began his professional career as a journalist in the “Express” and “Post-Postup” publications. Subsequently, he was a research associate, and later headed the Center for Humanitarian Studies of the I. Franko LNU. He was engaged in artistic and scientific translation, editing, cultural studies, public artistic and research practices and initiatives. Founder and co-author of a number of important cultural and publishing projects.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 46th separate airborne brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Evgeny Gulevich is survived by a brother.
