Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes

Tomorrow, December 8, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Vyacheslav Yarmak, Oleksandr Strikha, Yuriy Zelenkevich defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of the Heroes will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11.30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

Vyacheslav Yarmak (May 2, 1984-December 3, 2022) from Kharkiv.
Studied at the Kharkiv Specialized School of I-III degrees No. 156 of the Kharkiv City Council of the Kharkiv region. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Center of Vocational and Technical Education No. 3 of Kharkiv City” (then – City Vocational and Technical School No. 33) with a specialty of “auto mechanic”.

In 2012, together with his family, he moved to Lviv.

In his free time, he was fond of fishing and road trips. He worked as a regional manager in the “OLKO” chain of retail stores.

Junior sergeant. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend Ukraine from the invaders. Defended the state as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vyacheslav Yarmak is survived by his mother, wife and daughter.

Oleksandr Strikha (01.12.1983-05.12.2022) native of Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 98 of the city of Lviv. Graduated from the Ukrainian Academy of Printing.

After completing his studies, he first worked as a storekeeper, and later held the position of a traffic safety officer at the Lviv representative office of Onur Construction International Limited Liability Company.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the terrorist state. He fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Despite his unsatisfactory state of health, he continued to perform combat tasks until the end.

Oleksandr Strikha is survived by his parents and daughter.

Yuriy Zelenkevich (14.03.1977-21.11.2022) Born in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region.
Studied at the Berdyansk comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 9 of the Berdyansk city council of the Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the Berdyansk Mechanical Engineering College of the Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic National University.

After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of border guards in Alchevsk, Luhansk region.

Lived in Kharkiv since 2012, worked as a mechanic.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces. Junior sergeant. He served in the military as part of the 110th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yury Zelenkevich is survived by his mother, wife, two children and a sister.
