Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes who defended Ukraine

On Wednesday, May 24, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes. Yevgeny Yarosevych, Andriy Tserkovny, Volodymyr Lasky died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Yevhenii Yarosevych (March 27, 1986-April 8, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lesya Ukrainka Lyceum No. 75 of the Lviv City Council, entered the Lviv Lyceum of Management in the 9th grade. He was educated at the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In addition, he graduated from the Lviv Institute of the Private Joint-Stock Company “Higher Educational Institution “Interregional Academy of Personnel Management” with the specialty “manager”.

In peacetime, he worked in the “Silpo” chain of stores and at private enterprises. He led an active lifestyle: he was engaged in sports tourism, rock climbing, cycling, and was fond of computer technology.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite the fact that he was unfit for military service, he volunteered to defend the Motherland. He carried out combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 356th Training Artillery Regiment of the 184th Training Center of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.

Evgeny Yarosevich is survived by his mother, aunt, cousins and sisters.

 

Andriy Tserkovny (October 19, 1975-May 14, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Lesya Ukrainka Lyceum No. 75 of the Lviv City Council. He was educated at the Lviv Construction Technical School (today the Lviv Vocational College of Construction, Architecture and Design). After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Berdychiv, Zhytomyr Region.

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry in Lviv. He was fond of fishing.

Junior sergeant. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite the fact that he was released from military service due to his health, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the eastern direction as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danilo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Andriy Tserkovny is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, brother and goddaughter.

 

Volodymyr Lasky (15.01.1987-20.05.2023) native of Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 65 of Lviv. Received vocational and technical education at the Lviv Higher Vocational School of Information and Computer Technologies.

In peacetime, he worked at Druk Tekstil LLC. He was fond of drawing and design.

Despite the lack of military experience, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend the Motherland from the invaders. Performed combat missions on the territory of Donetsk region as part of the 47th separate mechanized brigade “Magura” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Lasky is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
