Tomorrow, December 28, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes. Roman Legky, Serhii Fedorov, Boris Yakovlev died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of the Heroes will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a.m. – a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Serhii Fedorov (September 6, 1975-December 19, 2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at Markiyan Shashkevych Secondary School No. 34. Subsequently, he obtained a professional and technical education in the specialty “electric gas welder”.

After completing his studies, he served in the army.

In peacetime, he worked at the Lviv Railway Regional Branch of the Ukrainian Railways Joint Stock Company.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. He fought against the terrorist state in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Serhiy Fedorov is survived by his parents.

 

 

Boris Yakovlev (July 4, 1966-December 23, 2022). A native of Lviv.
At one time, he moved with his family to the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. Studied at the Bakhmut secondary school of grades I-III No. 24 with in-depth study of individual subjects and courses.

He graduated from Mykhailo Tugan-Baranovsky Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade and Horliv Automobile and Road Institute of Donetsk National Technical University. After completing his studies, he served in the army.

In peacetime, he worked as a deputy chief in the tax inspectorate of the city of Bakhmut, later engaged in private entrepreneurship.

With the beginning of Russia’s aggression, he volunteered to join the 2nd special purpose battalion “Donbas”. Since 2015, he has been performing combat missions as part of a separate special purpose unit “Azov”. In the future, he defended the Motherland in the ranks of the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa.

Boris Yakovlev is survived by his wife, two sons and grandchildren.

 

Roman Legky (May 20, 1975-December 19, 2022). A native of the village of Vybranivka, Lviv region.
He studied at the Communal Institution of General Secondary Education of the I-III degrees No. 8 of the village of Vybranivka, Lviv Region. Graduated from Vocational and Technical School No. 53 of Lviv.

During 1992-1994, he served in the military in the city of Skole, Lviv region.

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Roman Lekko is survived by his wife and two minor children.
