Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three defenders

On Wednesday, December 13, Lviv will say goodbye to servicemen Mykola Dmytryshyn, Mykhailo Kostruba and Konstantin Mironov, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

At 09:30 in the church of St. Josaphat (Zamarstinivska, 134A) will hold a farewell ceremony for soldier Mykhailo Kostruba.

The funeral rites of defenders Mykhailo Kostruba, Mykola Dmytryshyn and Kostiantyn Myronov will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of defenders

Mykola Dmytryshyn (18.12.1979-29.11.2023) Born in the village of Tvirzha, Lviv region.
He studied at the General Educational Boarding School of Sports Profile in Lviv. Later, he entered the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Lviv Vocational Polytechnic Lyceum” (then Vocational and Technical School No. 33 of the city of Lviv).

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry. He was fond of fishing.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland from the Russian invaders.

Mykola Dmytryshyn is survived by his mother, two sons, a brother and his wife, and nieces.

 

Mykhailo Kostruba (April 29, 1972-December 10, 2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 30. He was fascinated by history from a young age. Love for the Motherland was handed down to Mykhailo Kostruba from his grandfather, who fought for Ukraine during the Second World War. First, he received a professional and technical education at the Lviv Construction Technical School (today – the State Higher Educational Institution “Lviv College of Construction, Architecture and Design”). Subsequently, he entered the National Forestry University of Ukraine.

After completing his studies, he completed military service in Lviv and got a job at one of the automobile bases of the former Carpathian Military District. Until 2009, he lived in Greece, worked in the construction industry and installed lighting equipment for large-scale concerts.

After returning to the Motherland, he engaged in private repairs. He was an extremely positive person and easily made friends. He was fond of cooking and collecting mushrooms.

From the first days of the war, despite the status of a person with a disability, he volunteered to defend the state from the Russian invaders and performed combat tasks in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He participated in the operations for the liberation of Kherson Oblast, and also fought against the invaders on the eastern side of the front. Mykhailo Kostruba had exceptional engineering skills, was involved in the logistical support of the unit and generated many ideas to gain a tactical advantage over the enemy.

Mykhailo Kostruba is survived by his mother, wife, daughter, brother, nephew, godchildren and brother-in-law.

 

Konstantin Mironov (18.03.1970-06.11.2023) native of Lviv.
He studied at Vasyl Semenovych Stefanyk Secondary School No. 22. Subsequently, he obtained a higher education at the former department “Technologies of Basic Organic and Petrochemical Synthesis” of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”.

After completing his studies, he served in the military. During 2014-2016, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation.

After returning to civilian life, he worked at the Limited Liability Company “Lviv Confectionery Factory “Svitoch”. Engaged in swimming at a professional level.

After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Kostiantyn Mironov is survived by his wife, daughter and brother.
