Tomorrow, Lviv to Say Farewell to Defender Oleksandr Zolototrubov

Tomorrow, January 10, the people of Lviv will bid farewell to Oleksandr Zolototrubov, a serviceman who gave his life defending Ukraine against Russian occupiers. The Lviv City Council has urged residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events during this time.

The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Following the service, a citywide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square around 11:30 AM. Oleksandr Zolototrubov will be laid to rest at the Lychakiv Cemetery.


Biography of Oleksandr Zolototrubov

Oleksandr Zolototrubov was born on December 8, 1996, in Lviv. He attended Secondary School No. 77, which specializes in economics and management. In 2016, he graduated from the State Vocational School of Automotive Transport and Construction with a specialty in “Maintenance and Repair of Vehicles and Engines.”

Oleksandr began his career at a local gas station and spent the last two years working at the “Blyzenko” grocery chain. He was passionate about cars, and his family remembers him as a caring son, brother, loving uncle, and loyal friend.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Oleksandr joined the 108th Separate Mechanized Battalion, known as the “Da Vinci Wolves,” part of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He carried out combat missions on the Donetsk front.

Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, niece, and many friends.
