Tomorrow, January 10, Lviv will say goodbye to Ihor Orlevich, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul, at 9:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried in his native village of Dmytro, Lviv region.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Ihor Orlevich (February 27, 1968-December 9, 2022) was born in the village of Dmytro, Lviv region.
He studied at the Dmytrovy secondary school of the I-II degrees. Subsequently, he received vocational and technical education at the former Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 25 in the city of Lviv. After completing his studies, he completed military service.

In peacetime, he worked at the Lviv Telegraph Equipment Plant and the then Lviv Tram and Trolleybus Management. During 2014-2016, he performed combat missions in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation. For his personal courage, he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree by the decree of the President.

After his return, he held the position of an orderly at the Lviv Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Transcarpathian Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the liberation of Donetsk region and Kherson region from the Russian invaders.

Igor Orlevich is survived by his mother, sister, wife and three children.
