Tomorrow, February 18, Lviv will say goodbye to Oleksandr Sozansky, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. Farewell will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 16:30 there will be a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. Therefore, the Hero will go to his native Sambor for his eternal rest.
The City Hall of Lviv calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.
We will remind you that tomorrow in the first half of the day, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Maryan Klimkovsky. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Maryan Klimkovsky will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.
Biographical reference of the Hero
Oleksandr Sozanskyi (21.09.1991-17.02.2023). A native of the city of Sambir, Lviv region.
Studied at Sambir secondary school No. 10 of Lviv region. He graduated from the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” and at the same time attended the military department at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.
He was the commander of the “Heavy Weapons Company” fire support company. Since 2014, he has participated in combat operations as part of the battalion of the Golden Gate Special Purpose Police Patrol Service, and later joined the ranks of the Right Sector.
In 2018, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he defended the independence of the state as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For personal courage, he was awarded numerous awards, in particular, the badge “Participant of ATO”.
Oleksandr Sozansky is survived by his parents, sister, grandmother and fiancée.
