The court has upheld a claim filed by the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, ordering a 33-year-old resident of Stryi District to pay more than 900,000 UAH in damages for harm caused to the environment.

Investigations revealed that in February 2023, the man illegally cut down spruce trees in a forest area managed by the “Slavske Forestry” branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.”

This forest area is part of a local landscape reserve and is included in Ukraine’s nature reserve fund, enjoying special state protection.

The illegal actions caused over 900,000 UAH in damages to the state.

Prosecutors filed a lawsuit, which was fully upheld by the court.
