How to protect your telegram from intruders: recommendations of the National Police of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the war, Telegram has become one of the largest platforms for news and communication. Therefore it is necessary to take care of safety of its use. The National Police of Ukraine advises to set up the confidentiality of the account.

So go to “Privacy and Security” or “Privacy” and change the settings as follows:

– Phone number → Who can see the phone number – Nobody

– Phone number → Who can find by number – My contacts

– Last activity → Who can see the time of my last activity – Nobody

– Profile photos → Who can see photos and videos of my profile – My contacts

– Calls → Who can call me – My contacts (or None if you want).

– Calls → Peer-to-peer – My contacts (or None if you prefer not to share your IP address with callers).

– Forward messages → Who can add a link to my account when sending my messages – My contacts.

Configure account security. Set a password to unlock the Telegram login. Enable Telegram Auto Lock for one or 5 minutes. Enable two-factor authentication for your account.

For security of the IP address use VPN services.
