Wide bus stops, rest areas and bicycle rental stations: construction of a transport hub is underway opposite the Organ Hall

Within the reconstruction of the street S. Bandery, a contracting organization of “Onur Construction International” LLC, starting tomorrow, October 25, will begin preparatory work on the arrangement of the transport hub at the intersection of St. Chuprinka – S. Bandera, opposite the Organ Hall.

By the end of this year, they plan to carry out the main construction works here – to replace all networks and pave the space with paving stones. The street furniture and landscaping will be installed in the spring of 2023. Public transport stops are not yet planned to be moved during the repair work.

“Tomorrow we will start dismantling works at the corner of the street. Chuprinka-Bandery, opposite the Organ Hall. There, within the reconstruction of St. S. Bandera, a transport hub should be built.

The hub project was developed by LKP “Institute of Spatial Development” on the order of GIZ.

Therefore, by the end of this year, we plan to carry out dismantling works, install electricity supply networks and pave the territory of public space. Instead, the installation of street furniture and landscaping of the territory will be carried out in the spring of 2023,” said Mykola Vlasyuk, director of Lvivavtodor LKP.

We will remind you that LKP “Institute of Spatial Development” developed the project of the first transport hub in Lviv at the corner of St. Chuprinka and Bandera. It is planned that a public space will be arranged on a small area between transport stops, where it will be possible to conveniently transfer from one type of transport to another.

On the territory of the hub there will be wide stops, places for rest and bicycle and scooter rental stations. You can charge your car in parking slots nearby. The pavilions will be landscaped with climbing plants, and Callery Chanteclair pears will also be planted.

“Climbing plants will be planted behind the bus stops so that they can be woven into the pavilions. Also, part of the sections will be without rear walls for convenient passages, so that you do not have to go around the entire stop.

In addition, the square will have a drinking fountain, tree-trunk gratings with ground lamps for illuminating trees, bicycle racks with built-in sockets for electric bicycles, and racks for parking and charging scooters. There will also be benches of various types on the square,” said the “Institute of Spatial Development” LKP.

The customer of the project is the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ. The project will be implemented within the framework of the reconstruction of the street. S. Bandera.

It should be noted that now there are two public transport stops on this triangle – on the side of the street. Bandera and st. Chuprinka
