On Thursday, November 10, at 3 p.m., the Lviv Regional Youth Center will host a presentation of the book “Christian Democracy. Solutions for Ukraine and Europe”.
The book authored by public activist Yuriy Mindyuk, journalist Kostyantyn Kanishev and political scientist Valery Maidanyuk was published by the NGO “Fund for the Promotion of Democracy”.
The book is intended for a wide range of readers, politicians, political scientists, journalists, public and religious activists, students, Christians and all those interested in the principles of building successful and socially oriented states.
“Christian democracy became the ideology of reconciliation and integration for European countries after the Second World War. Christian Democratic leaders Konrad Adenauer, Robert Schumann and Alcide de Gasperi not only laid the foundations of the economic prosperity of Germany, France and Italy, but also became the founding fathers of the European Union. The universal values of Christian democracy raised post-war Europe from the ruins and became the foundation of a social state based on freedom, solidarity and responsibility. This book tells about the stories of Christian-democratic examples of success, successful and unsuccessful struggle to build a society of welfare, justice and values,” says the abstract of the book.

Valery Maidanyuk, Candidate of Political Sciences, co-author of the book “Christian Democracy. Solutions for Ukraine and Europe”;
Valentyn Balagura, political scientist, public activist, NGO “Great State”;
Yuriy Goncharenko, information security expert, vice president of the NGO Fund for the Promotion of Democracy, educational initiative InfoLight.UA;
Maksym Koliba, Doctor of Philosophy, Deputy Director of the International Institute of Ethics and Contemporary Problems of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Senior Lecturer at the School of Law of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
Also on this day, the educational initiative InfoLight.UA, implemented by the NGO “Fund for the Promotion of Democracy” with the support of the Hans Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, will be presented. Within the framework of the initiative, online trainings on information hygiene and security, fact-checking and countering disinformation take place.
