In Lviv, they continue to welcome long-time residents of the city who have celebrated 100 years or more. In September, five women from Lviv celebrated their birthdays: three of them turned 100 years old, two more – 101 and 102 years old.
In particular, Olga Gorbunova celebrated her birthday: on September 1, she turned 100 years old. Nadiya Fadeeva celebrated her 100th birthday on September 10, and the next day, on September 11, Maria Markaryan celebrated her centenary. Vera Hrytsak celebrated her 102nd birthday on September 13, and Hanna Marchenko celebrated her 101st birthday on September 20. Representatives of the Social Security Administration visited the natives and congratulated them on behalf of the city community, handing them material assistance in the amount of UAH 5,000.
The tradition of congratulating long-lived people in Lviv has existed for 15 years. All the anniversaries, as every year, are greeted by representatives of the city government on behalf of the city community. Traditionally, those long-lived people who celebrate a hundred years are given a one-time financial aid in the amount of UAH 5,000, a commemorative coin and a congratulatory letter from the mayor on their birthday. All those who celebrate 101 years or more – UAH 5,000.
In general, in 2022, 280,000 hryvnias have been allocated in the budget for the payment of one-time benefits for long-lived residents of Lviv.
