On March 4-10, the parish of St. Nicholas in Staryi Sambir hosted a week of social service, which was introduced throughout the UGCC.
During the week, parishioners, together with Fr Mykhailo Mykolyn and Fr Yurii Boichuk, prayed for the needy, to whom each prayer day of the week was dedicated: for soldiers, missing persons, the wounded, families of the dead, orphans, the sick, the lonely, the war-wounded, etc.
On Friday, as part of the week of social service, in the evening, at the invitation of Fr Mykhailo Nikolyn, the parish of Starosambir was visited by Fr Bohdan Lekhovych, Fr Vasyl Bilas, and spiritual counselors from the Caritas Charity Foundation, the Nazareth Rehabilitation Center, and Nasha Khata, which operate in the Sambir-Drohobych Eparchy, who spoke to the audience about addictions and ways to overcome them.
On Saturday, the “Feed the Hungry” campaign was held, during which the faithful collected bread and long-term storage products for those in need. On Sunday, March 10, all the food donations were blessed and handed over to the Our House, a community of mutual assistance for the homeless, and the Nazareth rehabilitation center for addicts.
On Sunday, at the invitation of Fr Mykhailo Mykolyn, the parish was visited by the Municipal Chamber Choir from Drohobych, which sang at the Liturgy and raised funds for one of the units of the 42nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
