At the parish of St. Ivan Paul II RCC in Sokilnyky opened a tent kitchen for IDPs

The project implemented by this parish aims to provide the basic needs of people suffering from war.

Yesterday, March 8, at the parish of St. John Paul II of the Roman Catholic Church (the village of Sokilnyky, Lviv district), a tent kitchen was opened to prepare meals for forcibly displaced persons.

Altruist Relief Kitchen (ARK), an international company for arranging field kitchens that work without fuel and electricity, implemented this next project of placing a field kitchen for daily feeding of forcibly displaced persons with hot food not only in Ukraine, but also around the world.

From the first days of the war, the religious community of St. John Paul II, under the leadership of Father Hryhoriy Draus, brought our victory closer with kindness and care for the needy.

The project implemented by this parish aims to provide the basic needs of people suffering from war.

The event began with a theatrical mystery performed by forcibly displaced children, followed by a joint prayer for Ukraine’s victory in the war, consecration of the tent kitchen, official opening and lighting of the stove. Immediately after the opening, everyone who wanted to was able to have a delicious lunch.

Vasyl Dorosh, head of the Department of Religions and Nationalities of the Department of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Lviv Regional State Administration, and Oleksandra Yanovych, coordinator of the project “Social support of elderly people from IDPs”, volunteer of “Medical and Psychological Assistance” at the Main Railway Station of Lviv took part in the opening.
