In the Sokal-Zhovkiv diocese of the UGCC, days of spiritual renewal “Traces of love” were held for the families of military personnel

The participants had the opportunity to communicate with the clergy, psychologists and specialists of “Caritas-Zhovkva” UGCC, attend joint services, pilgrimages to Zhovkva and Krekhov, as well as interesting master classes.

More than 250 people have attended five-day meetings for families of military, wounded, missing and fallen soldiers since the beginning of the summer. According to Bishop Mykhailo Koltun, bishop of the Sokal-Zhovkiv diocese, this project of spiritual renewal is particularly important for the support of the victims, and in the future it will also be carried out at parishes.

“We did this project in several events for five days each, but we want to transfer it to places in the parish so that priests can feel the fate of people who hope that Ukraine will not leave them, that the Church will not leave them, and that we together we could celebrate our victory,” the bishop noted.

Participants of spiritual renewal are divided according to age. Specialists of BF “Caritas-Zhovkva” UGCC work separately with each group. During the rest, everyone has the opportunity to take part in various master classes, including rosary making.

“This is, on the one hand, a master class, and on the other, a type of therapy, during which each of the participants, making this rosary with their own hands, placing beads on the string, invests their meaning, meaning, requests to God, prayers and hopes,” – said the deputy director of “Caritas-Zhovkva” Anna Datsko.

Father Stepan Makar, director of Zhovkiv Caritas, noted that the participants respond positively to such initiatives, and this is evidence that the Church is always there.
