Another religious community in the Lviv region has decided to break ties with the Moscow Patriarchate and join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.
Namely, it concerns the religious community of the village of Vidniv, Kulykivka TG, which has been a focus of disputes and conflicts since the beginning of the full-scale war.
It should be noted that in October, a priest of the Moscow Patriarchate refused to conduct a funeral service for a Ukrainian defender who died in the war. This directly became a catalyst for the process of the final withdrawal of this community.
In addition, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Vidniv (1738) is an architectural monument of national importance, which remained the last religious building in the Lviv region that was owned by a religious community in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate.
As of today, 7 other religious communities in the Lviv region remain under the jurisdiction of рпц❗️Закликаємо.
