On Sunday, August 25, Lviv will host the Dream Workshop Festival. The program of the festival includes a fair of handmade products from the youth of the Dream Workshop, master classes, sports entertainment, a concert, and panel discussions – everyone will be able to find something to do with their time.
Starting from 14:00, the organizers will be waiting for everyone to come to the square in front of the main building of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Throughout the event, there will be an art zone where you can join in the joint creation of a painting, a win-win lottery, and a fair of handicrafts made by young people from the Dream Workshop and friendly organizations. It will also be possible to have a portrait made by famous photographers for a donation. An incredible children’s area will be open from 14:00 to 18:00.
The organizers of the festival aim to introduce the activities of the NGO “Workshop of Dreams” to the citizens and guests, discuss how to make the city comfortable together, and raise funds to support the organization.
Founded in August 2015 in Lviv, the Dream Workshop NGO aims to integrate people with mental disabilities into society, in particular, to help young people acquire useful skills and socialize. For example, they are taught how to cook, clean a room, take care of plants, etc. The organization consists of a network of day care centers and assisted living facilities. In addition, Workshop of Dreams supports families, develops communities of partners, volunteers and ambassadors, educates and introduces new, modern formats of social services.
“The birthday of our organization is a good reason to speak even louder about our activities. So, on August 25, we are gathering our like-minded people, friends, acquaintances and strangers to talk and dream about what needs to be done to ensure that people with disabilities, including those with mental disorders, take an active part in community life,” says Anna Ivanicheva, head of the NGO “Dream Workshop”.
