At the charity futsal tournament, road workers and deputies of the Lviv region collected 70 thousand hryvnias to support the family of the fallen defender of Ukraine

A charity futsal tournament was held in Lviv among road workers of the Lviv region. The event was held in support of the families of military personnel, in particular, the road workers took the initiative to support the family of the fallen defender of Ukraine Andrii Savenka, who is survived by five minor children.

Eight teams competed for the football championship, among them the Highway Service in the Lviv Oblast, Lviv Oblavtodor State Enterprise, guests from Ternopil Avax Prof LLC, Avtomagistral – Pivden LLC, Athletico Bayraktar, the Road Management Department of the Lviv Oblast, Roma ” and the united team of deputies of the Lviv Regional Council.

The victory in the tournament was won by the team from the Zhovkiv region of the SP “Roma”, the second place was taken by the joint team of deputies of the Lviv Regional Council, and the bronze was won by the team of the SE “Lviv Oblavtodor”.

Apart from sports confrontations, participating teams also collected 70,000 hryvnias to support the families of servicemen.

“We will hand over all the collected funds to the Office of Support for Families of Servicemen operating under the Lviv Regional Military Administration. I believe that this is a great initiative and I am happy every time we manage to do a good deed. Today we managed to support the family of a fallen soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With this, we once again testify to the strength and invincible character of our nation,” commented Oleg Bereza, head of the Highway Service in the Lviv region.

Andriy Savenko is a native of the city of Slovyansk, and has served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2016. Died on July 9, 2022.

“The senior soldier of the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa of ZSU was survived by his mother and five minor children – three daughters and two sons. All of them have been living in Lviv since May and need our support,” said Anna Kuzyuta, coordinator of the Office for the Support of Military Families.

The charity futsal tournament among road workers of the Lviv Region was co-organized by the Office of Support for Families of Military Servicemen under the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the State Highway Agency of Ukraine and the Futsal Association of the Lviv Region. The employees of the National Social Service Administration in the Lviv region were also able to join the organization of the tournament.
