The match in Brody became one of the most successful in the century-long history of Sokal football. In the 17th minute of the game, Yuriy Yastrub opened the score, but after 5 minutes, “Bogun” equalized the score – 1:1. A victory was needed for the silver awards… At the end of the first half, Stepan Sologub scored a handsome goal and put the people of Sokal ahead – 2:1.
The second half began with our team being eliminated… Sokal residents were forced to play the second half of the game in ten minutes… The reliable performance of the goalkeeper Nazar Ivankiv inspired the team to selfless play in defense and sharp counterattacks… At the end of the match, Vasyl Prykhidko put the “silver” point in the match – 3:1!
