Training on writing grant applications was held for agrarians of the Lviv region

The training took place within the international cooperation project ReACT4UA – “Application and implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the sphere of trade”.

Consultants of the Vrozhai Peremogy Farming Development Center conducted training on attracting grant funds for representatives of public organizations, local self-government bodies, and farms.

The event took place at the “Field of Happiness” location.

Farmers who had minimal experience in writing grant applications and wanted to deepen their knowledge of attracting grant funds, as well as those who had no experience in the topic of international technical assistance, participated in the training. In total, the training brought together more than 30 farmers from various branches of agricultural production and processing.

“Despite the challenges and difficulties, farmers try to adapt, continue to work, look for exits to new markets, and also look for alternative financial sources to support their activities. These are funds from the state and regional budgets, as well as international technical assistance programs. In particular, this year, UAH 47.9 million was allocated from the regional budget to support agriculture in Lviv Oblast. During the war, the number of grant programs helping domestic agribusiness increased many times and, according to experts, there will be even more of them. Today, strengthening the financial capacity of agrarians also depends on the ability to prepare high-quality project applications,” said Tetyana Getman, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Lviv OVA.

The training was maximally focused on practical and key aspects of finding available relevant grants and MTD programs, requirements for writing a grant application. The trainer also told the participants of the event about the challenges facing modern businesses in the process of preparing a package of documents for a grant.

“Grant tools help entrepreneurs, particularly farmers, to think about their activities in a different way. In order to receive grant funds, farmers need to develop a vision of their development, write down the problems they are working with, and also describe how the measures provided for in the grant application will help develop their own business. This way there is a double benefit. On the one hand, entrepreneurs draw attention to their business, on the other hand, they develop a development strategy, study and prescribe it, and have the opportunity to directly attract funds from national and international programs that support Ukrainian entrepreneurship,” emphasized Ivan Kulchytskyi, an expert in business development and local councils
