In 2022, Lviv Oblast broke the record for the number of family farms

16 new family farms were registered in Lviv Oblast this year. Thanks to this, the number of family farms in the region increased to 78, a record among all regions of Ukraine.

The majority of these farms work in the field of dairy cattle breeding, the department of agro-industrial development of Lviv Oblast reported.

Family farms are mainly registered by sole proprietors who have up to 5 cows at the start. Then they increase the herd to 10-25-30-50 cows and consider proposals to create their own milk processing. During 2020-2022, 48 family farms were registered in the dairy industry.

The positive dynamics of cattle herd growth in these farms speaks of the intensive business development of family farms. According to statistics, the number of cows in small farms as of October 1 is 798, which is 33% (266) more than last year.

Such results were achieved through newly created family farms and an increase in the number of cows in the farms created in the previous two years. For comparison, the number of livestock in households decreased by almost 11% in the last year alone.

“This year, small and medium-sized livestock enterprises of the Lviv region had a unique opportunity to receive a double subsidy for cows: 2.5 thousand UAH per head was allocated from the regional budget, and a subsidy in the amount of 5.3 thousand UAH was provided through the State Agrarian Register. on the head In total, under these two programs alone, over UAH 31 million were paid to the farmers of Lviv Oblast,” said Tetyana Hetman, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Lviv Oblast.

At the regional level, in the current year, financial support was provided in the form of a subsidy for the maintenance of cows of all productivity areas in the amount of UAH 2,500 per head to stabilize the decline in the cattle population and develop the cattle breeding industry among micro and small agrarian business entities.

109 business entities received financial support in the amount of UAH 7.5 million in the form of a subsidy for keeping 3,000 cows of all productivity areas. Among the recipients are 77 legal entities of various forms of business and 32 individual entrepreneurs who are registered family farms.

At the state level, economic entities registered in the State Agrarian Register were provided with a budget subsidy for the number of cows in the amount of UAH 5,300 per head. According to preliminary data, more than 23.5 million hryvnias were involved in the region. for 437 applications.

According to the “E-job” program, grant support for projects in the amount of up to UAH 8 million was provided for the creation and development of processing capacities, including milk processing. on the terms of co-financing: 70% of the project cost – at the expense of grants, at least 30% – at the expense of the recipient’s funds.
