Regional landscape park “Nadsyanskyi” received the distinction of the international competition “The best publishing houses about mountains”

The authors of the book editions are employees of the Carpathian Ecology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Beschad National Park.

The cycle of popular scientific publications about the natural and historical-cultural heritage of the Nadsyanskyi RLP – one of the Ukrainian parts of the Eastern Carpathians international biosphere reserve, which was presented at the VII international competition “The best publishing houses about mountains” (Poland), received a special award of the competition .

The series of publications included: the book “Nadsyansky National Park: natural and historical and cultural heritage”, brochures “Rare species of plants and animals Nadsyansky National Park”, “Ecological and local history trail “From the sources of the Dniester River to the sources of the Syan River”, as well as booklet “Wooden churches: historical and cultural heritage of sacred culture”.

The authors of these publications are employees of the Carpathian Ecology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (O. Maryskevich, I. Shpakivska, A.-T. Bashta, O. Kagalo, Yu. Kanarskyi), the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (K. Danylyuk) and the Beschad National Park ( Z. Neviadomskyi).

The publication was published during 2012-2021 with the financial support of the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection in the Lviv Region and the Carpathian Biodiversity Conservation Fund (Slovakia).

The VII international competition “The best publishing houses about mountains” took place in September 2022 within the framework of the 25th international book fair in Krakow (Poland). 37 publishers from 6 countries (Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine) took part in the competition, and sent 113 publications about mountains.
