In Lviv, a Hub for the promotion of local producers’ products from all regions of the region was opened

Every Saturday at the fair, you will be able to taste the products of local farmers’ own production and get to know local producers better.

From now on, craft farmers of Lviv Oblast will have a place where they can directly meet their consumers and popularize their product at the local level. All because the Hub for the promotion of products of local manufacturers has been operational in Lviv since today.

On the first day of the opening at the fair, craft producers from the Lviv region presented their products: cheeses, honey, fruit from their own garden, sausages according to home recipes, soup sets, bread and other bakery products.

“Thank you very much to the organizers for the cool idea – to create a hub in one place where our farmers can communicate, exchange experience and sell their products, attract new customers. Such projects are aimed at supporting local manufacturers and this is very cool. In its turn, Lviv Oblast is the leader in terms of financial support for farmers. In the current year, almost 48 million hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget within the framework of the Comprehensive Program. We are the first region that was able to successfully implement such a program during the war,” assured Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv OVA.

The Hub will be open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the address: st. Knyagini Olga, 98K (room #49).

In addition to fairs, there will be seminars and training for producers of craft products, as well as anyone who is just planning to create their own agribusiness.

“We presented 10 types of cow’s milk cheese, which were made according to the author’s recipe. They have a rich taste, in no way similar to the cheese bought in the supermarket. It’s very cool that there is a place where we can popularize our craft products,” shared Solomiya Bratakh, co-founder of the “Garbuzovy Rai” cheese factory.

“I worked in Spain for 11 years, then I returned home and started making raw-dried products already in Ukraine, involving technologies that I learned about abroad. Sausages do not contain any flavor enhancers – everything is natural. If it says “sausage with sun-dried tomatoes” on the package, it is completely true. The basis is marinating in sea salt. You can try sausage with orange in white wine, with Parmesan, with white Carpathian mushrooms,” said farmer Vasyl Kit.

The organizers of the opening of the Hub for the promotion of products of local producers are the NGO Agricultural Advisory Center “Farmers’ Country” with the support of the USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine”. Co-organizers are members of the “Farmer’s Family” SC.

By the way, thanks to the regional program, the Lviv region also directs significant financial resources to support agro-industrial development. In the current year, UAH 47.9 million was allocated to support agriculture from the regional budget. Also, the state program “eRobota” program helps to develop horticulture, processing enterprises and promotes the creation of new family farms.

During January-September 2023, 38 economic entities received the right to receive grants in the amount of UAH 82.7 million. Farmers also attracted UAH 27.3 million for the development of aquaculture, vegetable growing, and berry growing within the framework of the FAO pilot project.
