Traffic Incidents in Lviv Region: Two Women Injured in One Day

Two serious traffic incidents resulting in pedestrian injuries have been recorded in the Lviv region. The local police are investigating both cases and reminding about the importance of adhering to traffic rules.

The first incident occurred on January 27 at around 18:40 on Halytska Street in the town of Bibrka, where a 35-year-old driver from Poltava, driving a Volkswagen car, hit a 77-year-old woman. The collision resulted in the hospitalization of the victim with multiple injuries.

The second incident took place on the same day at around 19:00 on Shevchenka Street in the town of Mostyska, where a 36-year-old female driver of a BMW 328i collided with a 59-year-old female pedestrian, who was also seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Criminal investigations have been initiated in both cases under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for up to three years of imprisonment and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years for violations of traffic safety rules.

The Lviv police continue their investigations, urging all road users to be as attentive and careful as possible.
