Last week, the Lviv Oblast Archery Championship among juniors and cadets, dedicated to the memory of the warrior-athlete Dmytro Sydoruk, took place at the sports complex of the Olympic training society “Dynamo” in Lviv.
More than 80 young athletes took part in the competition in the categories of juniors aged 18-20 and cadets under 18 years old. Archers competed at distances of 70 meters and 60 meters in individual and team disciplines.
These competitions were selections for the national archery team of the Lviv region, which at the end of the month will take part in the championship of Ukraine among these age categories.
The competition was held with the support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the Regional Archery Federation and the Lviv Regional Organization of Dynamo of Ukraine. Winners and prize-winners in all disciplines received exclusive diplomas and medals specially made for this event.
We will remind you that Dmytro Sydoruk stood up for the defense of Ukraine back in 2014, defended the Luhansk airport, received injuries from which he recovered for a long time. Subsequently, he successfully performed at the international “Invincible Games”, trained his brothers and coordinated the “Invincible” movement in the Lviv region. A year ago, Dmytro once again stood up for Ukraine. In April, he gave his life for the future of Ukraine.
In February 2023, the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv OVA announced the renaming of one of the regional sports schools to the Complex Children’s and Youth Sports School named after Dmytro Sydoruk.
