Alina Dmytruk and Andriy Orlikovsky Recognized

Alina Dmytruk has been recognized as the best athlete of Ukraine for the results in April, and Andriy Orlikovsky as the best coach.

The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine summarized the results of the past month. The award was given to celebrate Alina’s excellent performance at the World Championship in Wuxi, China, where she won silver in the cadet individual standings and was a co-author of the historic team gold for our junior epee.

“I am truly happy with this award,” Alina Dmytruk did not hide her emotions. “It is my first one, and I will keep working to win medals for our country, which is especially important in these difficult times. I am grateful to my coach, team, parents, who always support me, and of course, our soldiers, thanks to whom I have the opportunity to train and raise our flag,” commented Alina.

Andriy Orlikovsky has been repeatedly recognized as the best coach of the month due to the successes of Yana Shemyakina and Anna Maksymenko. “The history of fencing in Lviv region has a rich tradition, and it is pleasing that the younger generation continues this tradition. Alina Dmytruk is only 16, Anna Maksymenko is 17, and they are already world champions. I believe we will cheer for them at the Olympic Games,” says the director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Roman Khimyak.
