Wrestler Oleksandra Khomenets is a bronze medallist at the World Championships among athletes under 23
The World Wrestling Championships continue in Tirana (Albania).
Oksana Khomenets competed in the 55 kg weight category. Our athlete had four bouts, of which she won three:
🔹in the 1/8 finals she defeated Japan’s Neon Gomi 3-1;
🔹in the quarterfinals she lost to the future champion Emma Malmgren from Sweden with a score of 3:4;
🔹 in the consolation match for the bronze medal, she defeated Otgontu Bayanmunkh of Mongolia (3:3);
🔹 in the bronze medal match, she defeated Ekaterina Karpushkina of Russia, who was competing in neutral status, with a score of 5:0.
“The wrestler is a graduate of the Lviv Professional College of Sports and a pupil of the Spartakivets Sports School. She is coached by Orest Skobelsky and Andriy Byrka,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
In addition to Oleksandra Khomenets, three other athletes from Lviv region are competing at the U23 World Championships: Manola Skobelska, Maria Orlevych and Tymur Hudyma.
