Yulia Biryukova from Chervonohrad won the right to participate in the Olympic Games at the Ukrainian Championships

The Ukrainian road cycling championships started in Lviv region on 18 June and will last until 23 June. Juniors, under-23s and adults are competing for medals.

🥇Yulia Biriukova won the 29 km individual race among the elite in the women’s category.

The second and third places were taken by representatives of the Donetsk region 🥈Valeria Kononenko and 🥉Tetyana Yashchenko.

“According to the selection system, the athlete who took first place among women in the individual time trial won the right to represent Ukraine at the Olympic Games in Paris. It was the first Olympics in her career,” said Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Yulia Biriukova is a representative of the Lviv Regional School of Higher Sportsmanship. The athlete is coached by Orest Tychko, Valeriy Romanenkov and Dmytro Krivtsov.
