The Halychanka handball team won the Ukrainian championship ahead of schedule. This is the tenth consecutive, anniversary victory in the national championship for the Lviv team. The Lviv team became unattainable for their rivals after the eighth round of the competition, which was the penultimate round of this season. Our athletes won all the matches of the round: Kyiv’s Spartak was defeated with a score of 28:15, Brovary’s KOSFK was beaten 38:19, and Uzhhorod’s Karpaty won with a scoreboard result of 31:28.

After 24 matches played, Halychanka has 66 points, with one more round of the championship ahead.

“Congratulations to the athletes, coaching staff and fans. The Halychanka handball club has a very rich trophy history: ten consecutive championships were preceded by five silver and seven bronze medals in the Ukrainian championships. The team is also a two-time winner and bronze medalist of the Baltic League, a six-time winner of the Ukrainian Cup, and was the only representative of Ukraine in the Women’s Handball European Cup,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

We would like to add that in June, Vitaliy Andronov and Tetyana Shtefan’s wards will compete for the Ukrainian Cup in the final four.
